How we got started
The founder of NOMAD Happy Campers Ltd. was fresh out of business school and pursuing opening a unique multifunctional hostel in Sydney, NS. She went to the other Sydney in Australia to travel in February 2020 and planned to research hostels while there. Soon after she arrived she fell in love with campervan culture. A lightbulb went off and she decided to make it her mission to bring campervans to the Cabot Trail.
In March 2020, COVID-19 swept across the globe and she abruptly left Australia. She made the most of the pandemic and developed NOMAD Happy Campers Ltd.
Nomad Happy Campers hopes to one day provide a variety of campervans: tall, short, budget and luxury. We also want to provide a variety of camping gear and hobby rentals.
The growth of our little business has been slow due to the expensive and outdated insurance options for rental/conversion vehicles in the Maritimes. Our slow growth is also due to the unpredictable and unenjoyable winter weather. Our winters have had less snow and more rain than previous years. This makes skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing, and hiking difficult and unappealing.
